Exclamation Fabry-Perot and other things... help!!!!

Hello,

I would very much appreciate step by step solutions to a problem I've scanned and uploaded to flickr.com. See link below. (I've also attached the question to this message.) This is an exam type question, so understanding how to go about solving the various parts of the problem is important to me. Any insight would be great!
Thanks!

The interferece fringes are caused by the path difference between the waves reflected off the two plates. Constructive interference will occur when the path difference is an integral multiple of lamda the wavelength. Since the wave reflected from the lower plate traverses this distance twice, constructive intf will occur each time the thickness of the air increases by lamda/2. This happens 280 times when the wire is reached . So the dia of the wire is 280 x 589/2 nm
