Question Relative velocity

A person wants to cross the road, wlaking with constant speed u, as far as possible in front of a car moving along the road with constant speed v, where v > u. What should be the angle between the direction the person takes and the direction of the road?

I really don't understand this topic much, if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not clear on what the question is. Do you have a diagram to go with this? It's the "as far as possible in front" part that is confusing me.

No diagram was with the question, but as far as possible, I think it is supposed to be as fast as possible.

Default Newton

hi
I think as far as possible staying at a safe distance from the car. it should be perpendicular to the road to cross shortest distance. Correct me if i am wrong. Thanx.
